SATA Port Multiplier Enclosure, this card can manage the data flow of up to five drives in one enclosure through a single
cable! With the above enclosure using 5 SATA hard drives in a RAID 0
array, the card can typically achieve sustained disk writes of 130 MB/sec and
reads of 140 MB/sec!
Supports Serial ATA II Port Multiplier 1.0 Specifications revision 1.1 and
used with SATA Port Multiplier Enclosures containing multiple SATA hard drives,
supports RAID levels 0, 1, 5, and 10!
*Support for 10 drives requires the use of drive
enclosures employing port multipliers (like Sonnet's
Fusion 500P or this SATA Port Multiplier
Enclosure, 5-Bay with LCDs). When using an enclosure without a port multiplier (such as
this 2 Bay
External SATA II RAID Enclosure), the card will support up to 2 drives.
